Global markets had a rocky week thanks to pressure from oil, and concerns that rising oil will put a damper on the economic recovery. However, modest job growth and increasing corporate profits are still driving the market higher. As I suspect in the short-term, we may be seeing smaller bumps in the market versus a large drop as it continues to move higher.
The upcoming week should be light in terms of economic news since earnings season is coming to a close. However, the flip-side to that is that investors will be paying even more attention to the news overseas. I will continue to monitor the oil (and inflation) news closely.
